6 individual pies filled with minecmeat
A good standard pie with lots of filling. The filling isn’t particularly tasty but is okay, the same could be said for the pasty. They look good, nice and deep with wavy edging and a Christmas star in the centre of the lid.

Organic Mince Pies. Deep filled with a deliciously fruity mincemeat. Made in a dedicated gluten, wheat & dairy free bakery (from hell).
I could only stomach a quarter of the pie. For the first second after putting it my mouth I was thinking of a rating of around 3 but then the cardboard pastry taste hit me, and stayed with me. I imagine if I squashed a brown cardboard box with water and some sugar the taste would be similar. The pies even look like they’ve been made of cardboard!

Sainsbury’s deep mince pies. Butter enriched shortcrust pastry with a rich fruity mincemeat filling.
An excellent value for money pie, perfect for catering on mass whilst not breaking the bank. This is a tasty pie which has the perfect mincemeat to pastry ratio.

4 wheat, gluten & milk free brandy mince pies. Shortcrust pastry with deep fill brandy mincemeat.
Surprisingly nice considering the lack of wheat, diary and gluten. I am impressed that the makers managed to gain any Christmas taste from what ingredients they had remaining.

Gaudins handmade minces pies are freshly baked for a truly delicious taste
This pie is terrific, although not deep filled, it is full of tasty filling. Due to the hand-made nature of the pie the appearance and consistency can suffer but this only matters if you are looking for a ‘perfect’ pie, I personally like the fact that these look home-made.

Mincemeat pies made with a rich all butter shortcrust pastry filled with a luxury mincemeat containing vine fruits, almonds, walnuts and laced with Courvoisier® VS Cognac.
These pies look like they will be fantastic. But they are close to being very good but I think they could do with a touch more filling. The filling is very tasty and not over powered with the Cognac.

6 deep filled mince pies. Shortcrust pastry cases filled with rich mincemeat and topped with sugar
Poor but not inedible. The pie itself offered a good look with its pastry star but this was to provide the decoy from the shallow filling and watery filling. It never really got going on the taste front, the thick pastry unsettling the balance of flavour.

6 mince pies, a little less filling, yule love them
The packaging does say ‘a little less filling’, I find this slightly miss-leading, it should say ‘hardly any filling’. The filling resembled a spreading of Marmite with a few bumps where the 3 pieces of fruit popped up into the small space between layers of pastry. Cheap, yes, but I’d rather go hungry.
